Davide Sutto

About Me

I am currently the Career Development Fellow in Philosophy at Christ Church, Oxford. 

I obtained a PhD in Philosophy (2026) at the University of Oslo (UiO) under the supervision of Øystein Linnebo. My doctorate project was funded by the ERC Advanced Project C:FORS: Construction in the Formal Sciences and dealt with Work Package 1 (constructional approaches to the foundations of mathematics).

Before that, I received a BA (2019) in Philosophy (supervised by Michele Lubrano and Vincenzo Crupi) and a MA (2022) in Philosophy (International Curriculum. Supervised by Matteo Plebani) from the University of Turin.

My main research interests are in the Philosophy of Mathematics and Logic, with a special focus on (the Philosophy of) Set Theory, Foundations of Mathematics and Plural Logic. My PhD dissertation brought these topics together by running an extensive historical and theoretical analysis of the Iterative Conception of Set. Besides, I am also keen on Decision Theory, Theories of Bounded Rationality and Philosophy of Literature.
